The Red Lion dates back to 1898 when the publican was George Hefford.  The Groombridge family were the publicans between 1942 and 1998. The Red Lion is our first pub and as soon as we walked inside we we loved the atmosphere and could see that it has huge potential.
All of the locals have made us very welcome and we only hope that we will stay here for as long as some of the local customers have been coming here!
The Red Lion is most definitely a truly traditional community pub, serving good real ale and home cooked food, we have no plans to change this - only improve it!!  
2 Skittles teams play every Thursday and we provide all of the traditional pub games to enjoy with your pint or wait for your food - a pool table, darts and skittles. We would like to put together a darts and pool team to add to our skittles team so let us know if you are interested.
